Beeler, Lillian Laverne, born November 25, 1916 in Duncan, Okla., and died October 25, 2009 in Keene, Tex. Together with her husband, Charles, she spent several years in the mission field, serving in Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Columbia. She was a vivid storyteller and a published writer. After returning to the States, she worked as a church school teacher, and during her retirement years, served as curator of the Hopps Museum at Southwestern Adventist University. Survivors: two daughters, Martha Schack-Voth and husband, Gary, of Keene, and Rebecca Beeler of Oregon City, Oreg.; brother, Lindy Wharton and wife, Beth, of St. Cloud, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Lindorfer, Julia M., born June 28, 1916 in Madeleine Falls, Idaho, and died September 9, 2009 in Schertz, Tex. She organized the Women’s Ambulance and Defense Corps, and having a love for children, she wrote Vacation Bible School curriculum for Billy Graham, was a pediatric LVN at St. Helena Sanitarium and Hospital, and a substitute teacher for the Nevada-Utah Conference. As a colporteur, she sold The Bible Story to gamblers for 99 silver dollars. She was an early Pathfinder organizer and coached students at Calexico Mission School. While ranching in Texas she revived or planted the Kerrville, East Terrill Hills (Valley View), New Braunfels, and Greater Randolph churches. Survivors: children, Joanne and Robert, Jr.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her son Adrian, and husband, Robert Sr., preceded her in death.

Padon, Emmit Walters, born September 15, 1914 in Winters, Tex., and died October 23, 2009 in Cleburne, Tex. He was a member of the Cleburne church and served on the executive committee for many years. Survivors: wife, Elda Padon of Cleburne; son, Gary Roland Padon, Sr., and wife, Tina, of Conroe, Tex.; one granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.

Pate, Doris Helen, born June 26, 1909 in Childress, Tex., and died September 18, 2009 in Lubbock, Tex. A member of the Adventist Church, Doris was very involved in the community, coordinating a Five-Day Stop Smoking Plan, singing with the Sweet Adeline group, and in 1995, serving as a delegate to the General Conference Session. Survivors: three children, Joe B. Pate, Jr., Doris Dephena Bresee and husband, Floyd, and Oleta Fay Pate; sister, Nita Gibson; sister-in-law, Aileen Head; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Joe Pate.

Sanders, Willam Emmett (Bill) was born May 24, 1926 in Keene, Tex., and died on August 18, 2009. Bill lived in Keene all his life, except for two years in Lincoln, Neb., and two years in the Merchant Marines. A member of the Keene church for 70 years, he was laid to rest in the Keene Cemetery. Bill enjoyed water skiing, motorcycle riding, and camping with his family and friends. Survivors: wife of 62 years, Lillie Belle; daughter, Diana Kirk of Fort Worth, Tex.; son, Dr. William (Billy) Sanders IV of Fort Worth.

Schneider, Monroe, born January 10, 1916 in Loyal, Okla., and died September 19, 2009, in Burleson, Tex. He was a member of the Okene, Okla., church, where he served the church as elder, treasurer, and Sabbath School leader. He was a farmer and operated a dairy for many years. Survivor: son, Larry, of Burleson, Tex. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Rosalie; son, Don Schneider; brother, Wilbert Schneider, and sister, Sylvia von Pohle.

Sherrill, Roy Bruce, born April 11, 1925 in Hardy, Ark., and died July 22, 2009 in Fort Worth, Tex. He served his country as a PFC in the United States Army during WWII, where he drove an ambulance for the 369th Medical Battalion. Later, he and his wife, May, owned and operated Mobile X-Ray Service, Inc., in Fort Worth. He was a member of the Crossroads Fellowship church. Survivors, wife, May Sherrill, of Burleson, Tex.; son, Dr. Bruce Sherrill, D.D.S., of Dallas, Tex.; daughter, Bette Jean Elliston of Carmel, Calif.; sister, Lily Bessire and husband, Charles, of Friendswood, Tex.; sister-in-law, Fay Voss; three grandchildren.
